Wow! Today my baby girl is three months old, and everything about our lives has changed. This weekend we moved to the new house, and today I started back to school which means a lot of time away from my baby girl. :( I am not excited about it (especially since she still refuses the bottle), but it is all going to be worth it in our future..
Enough about me.. On to Miss Cote Marie::
By three months your baby...
...should be able to:
On stomach, lift head 45 degrees [check]
...will probably be able to:
Laugh out loud [only twice on purpose. but laughs a lot while falling asleep]
On stomach, lift head up 90 degrees [check]
Squeal in delight [sometimes]
Being both heads together [check]
Smile spontaneously [check]
Follow an object held about 6 inches above baby's face and moved 180 degrees–from one side to the other, with baby watching all the way [check]
...may possibly be able to:
Hold head steady when upright [check]
On stomach, raise chest, supported by arms [not so much... mommy needs to encourage more tummy time to practice this]
Roll over (one way) [sometimes]
Grasp a rattle held to backs or tips of fingers [I don't know about a rattle, but she holds onto her "Ziggy"]
Pay attention to an object as small as a raisin [check]
...may even be able to:
Bear some weight on legs when held upright [most definitely]
Reach for an object [not yet]
Keep head level with body when pulled to sitting [sometimes]
Turn in the direction of a voice, particularly mommy's [check]
Say "ah-goo" or similar vowel. consonant combination [check]
Razz (make a wet razzing sound) [I have NO idea what this is :/]
So it looks like she is progressing wonderfully. I looked back at her two month entry, and it seems she has improved in some area. There are still things she doesn't have much interest in such as the rattle or reaching for things, but I wonder if that is my fault. I do not really expose her to many opportunities to try such things.
Therefore, the mommy to-do list is work on more tummy time and expose her to more toys.
