Time for Our Love Story:
Matthew and I had started talking through an online dating app (so romantic, I know), and at first he kind of annoyed me to be honest. I remember talking to my friends about this guy that had offered to bring me flowers when I had my teeth pulled, and I wasn't even sure of his name. I had tried to blow him off and was successful for about two days. Then, one day while I was sitting in class, he called me! EEK!! I was like why in the heck is this guy calling me!? So, 30 minutes later I got out of class and figured 'why not' and called him back.
Oh My Gosh!! He had the greatest voice I had ever heard. He had me at "Hello". We talked about absolutely nothing of any value, but I could not get enough of that voice. After that phone call, I went from blowing him off to extreme school girl crush! It was so bad that I called him around 10 o'clock one night just to ask how to get electricity for my new rental house, and he graciously walked me through it step-by-step. Bless him!!
Soooo... a couple of days later, we were supposed to have our FIRST DATE! All day I was stressing about this date while I packed my dad's house with my dear sweet friend Chloe. Poor girl got to listen to me stress non-stop about if he was going to ever call. When he finally contacted me, the man tried to cancel! But I was determined. He said his babysitter wasn't able to watch the girls anymore, so instead I offered to drive to see him with my baby girl. (What kind of crazy was I??)
As I was driving to his house, having a mild heart attack, I could not stop thinking... what if he hates me? what if we don't click? will our kids get along? have I lost my mind? Please don't let him be a serial killer!!
I pulled up in front of his house, checked my makeup, and practiced a smile :) Then I called him to tell him I was there. [keep in mind: I am still not entirely sure what he looks like because he would not send me a selfie, too old fashioned I guess.] Anyway... he comes walking out, wearing his crimson Alabama hat, a black shirt and shorts, and an Alabama apron. And this man took my breath away in an instant. HALLELUJAH!! He was so handsome I literally could not think straight! I climbed out of my car, gave him a hug, walked around the car to get Cote out, and attempted to catch my breath.

From that point on, we were basically inseparable. I couldn't stand to be away from him not him from me. We were crazy about each other from the word GO! Who would have thought that something so special could be found online?!

Guess God knew what he was doing when he brought the two of us together. Matthew has seen me through so much in the last year, and he has brought me out on the other side as a stronger and better version of myself. I am so blessed to have truly found my other half, my better half.
